The sCORPSboard
|
The sCORPSboard web (http://www.scorpsboard.com) has enjoyed much success over the last few years, with more than a quarter million visitors to our main page. With more than seven hundred pages online we have been bringing the wired people of the Drum and Bugle Corps community up to the minute schedule information, contest scores and recaps and fan reviews of shows since 1995.
The sCORPSboard has been the labor of two people, Cathy Doser, who marched soprano in the 1970s with The Black Watch of Auburn, WA, and her friend, Caryn Roberts, who Cathy introduced to Drum and Bugle Corps at the Drums of Fire show in Woodburn, OR, in 1991.
Together they attended shows in Northern California, Oregon, Washington, and DCI Finals in Madison (92), Jackson (93), POC in Madison (94), the finals closed circuit in Fresno (94 - finals from Boston), Buffalo (95), and Orlando (96).
They started the sCORPSboard for the 1995 season and, with the use of a Macintosh Powerbook, were able to post finals score from Rich Stadium (95) and the Citrus Bowl (96). They also used the Powerbook to update The sCORPSboard when they were on road trips to see shows in California.
Recent changes to the rules (regarding instrumentation) have changed the face of the activity. In protest, the sCORPSboard will be inactive (no schedule/score/review updates) indefinitely. The site will remain online to provide some historical continuity.
The sCORPSboard would like to offer sincere thanks to all of those who sent scores, recaps, and reviews over the past four years. We would also like to thank the thousands of visitors to our web site.
