Editorial notes:

KIWANIS-A very disappointing, and uninspired show. The drumline needs major work, and the hornline isn't in good shape either. They did have their moments, but not the corps from last year.

BOSTON-The show was not exciting at all, and did not seem to fit together. Bass drums carried the drumline, snares need cleaning.

SPIRIT-Amazing, and exiting! A lot of emotion in this show. Every section in the corps is improving, and could be a corps to look out for later in the season. Low brass did an excellent job. Lots of attitude.

CROWN-The show seemed to drag, but the guard kept me interested. The guard was fabulous throughout the show, and the corps visual performance was great. Just need some more in the music.

MAGIC-The marching still needs improvement, but a lot better than last year. The soloists did a fantastic job, and the corps as a whole can really turn up the volume. Drumline was very dirty, but had its good spots.

BLUECOATS-Awesome pit! The drumline has improved since last year as well. "Summertime" was great. A little too much singing for a drum corps show, but was effective.

CROSSMEN-The best drumline all night. Technically sound from snares to front sideline. Even with the absence of th 2nd Bass they were phenomenally clean. The guard seems to be really putting it together, and the brass is getting stronger. Not as much fun and energy in the show as last year, but still an excellent show. Marching is better than last year at this time. Looking like a regular in the top 6.

CADETS-As always superb middle-brass! The marching is great(even though there were two falls in the end), and the guard is fantastic as well. The brass is way too good for this time in the season, this corps has a great shot to win it all this year. The tenors are simply AMAZING!!! The tenor solo just blew me away, and left me speechless. If the snares can clean it up they could possibly win best percussion at finals.

A great overall show for everyone!

How I placed them:

  1. Cadets
  2. Crossmen
  3. Bluecoats
  4. Magic
  5. Spirit
  6. Carolina
  7. Boston
  8. Kiwanis
