July 10, Oak Ridge, TN

Thanks to John Garman on RAMD for this review!

Micro-review:

One hour rain delay due to small thunderstorm cell that passed through,
but the field dried quickly, and there were very few apparent slips.

Vagabonds -- this show is just too difficult for them. They have a few low
brass players that just _can't_ play.

Cardinals -- ran out of gas after about 6 minutes. Sounds like they are
marching a few non-playing members to fill holes in the drill.

Lone Star -- First corps of the night that made me glad I'd driven 2.5
hours to get to Oak Ridge. 16 in the battery sounded nice and loud. Great
low brass. Nice tempo changes, but serious tuning problems, especially
high brass.

Delta Brigade -- With only 10 in the battery, they sounded a little
lacking in oomph to follow Lone Star, but had a nice balanced sound.
Crowd loved the easy-to-listen-to show.

Magic -- Wow! Robert Smith built on the music and design elements of
the last two years and definitely has a winner here. They will definitely
be a contender for that 7th spot in Buffalo.

Southwind -- Much improved from last year. Fun show.

Carolina Crown -- Unbelievable improvement since last year. Did these
guys buy out the Cadets or something? Very artistic show, and better
execution than they had last year in August.
