Thanks to Andrew H. Grilk on RAMD for this review! Here is how it went down in a very very hot and muggy evening. Daytime temps where around 105 on the practice field. All corps should be commended by sticking it out in the extreme weather conditions. Personal Review: The Cabs came out on fire and never let up. It seems the hot weather only brought to life a hotter performance from the cabs. The marching was clean, the drum line wailing, and the horn line too hot to handle! Taking 1st with an 80.5 The Bushwackers had a long hard day of practice, and despite the miserable conditions performed a great show. I personally don't care for the book they have chosen for it does nothing for me at all from a GE standpoint, however they are practically running around the field at times. I did notice several near falls and collisions however but the fatigue factor of the day could have been a big factor. Taking 2nd with a 78.8 this week. The Westshoreman I cannot review because I missed them. (Sorry) Taking 3rd this week with a 77.? The Hurricains I cannot review either, sorry guys. Taking 4th with a 70.? The Skyliners took some time to get it going tonight. They were not very clean at all from either a marching or playing standpoint, but the show just got better and better as they went along. By the end of the show they had the crowd on their feet cheering their climactic closer. Their color guard was very very good tonight and kept most of my attention throughout the show. Taking 5th with a 69.? The Crusaders I cannot review either but I have an additional note here for all of you Empire Fans. Last weekend Empire beat the Crusaders by approx. 7 points, this weekend the Cabs beat them by approx. 15 points! Bush of course beating them by 13 points, and WS by 12! Sorry ES but no repeats for you. Taking 6th with a 66.? The Chieftains, although I didn't get their score did a great job as host corp tonight. They are doing a tribute show to the 50's and let me tell you they have alot of fun with this show. I would love to see them make finals this year, because despite their size and ability they are really a great crowd pleaser. Isnt' this what it's all about. Great job guys. Taking 7th with ??.? (Again sorry) Cya next weekend in Clifton, NJ for the annual Hawthorne Grand Prix. Letz all hope for some cooler weather. BTW for all of you Hawthorne fans, the Caballeros Alumni Corp will also be in attendance this comming weekend with a few suprises for you, so be sure to be there. Adios Andrew H. Grilk
