Thanks to Jonathan C. Roberts on RAMD for this review! Just thought I'd drop a quick review of the Elkton show before I head up to Allentown tonight. In order of apperance: JERSEY SURF Kinda flat show tonight. Nothing bad to say because I'm on staff. sixth place 45.9 (.2 pen) CARDINALS The Cardinals truck was stuck in the Bronx and the corps hadn't praticed for two days. They drumline warmed up on a picnic table and used the Surf's equipment for the show. They also used Boston's horns and some other various color-guard equipment. Performed an expectantly flat show in corps jackets and shorts. seventh 41.1 CRUSADERS The corps looks like they're getting bigger, some guard marched but didn't do work. Tenor line of two was dirty and the bass-line is getting better. They still need to fill out but IMO won't come close to top 12. fifth 58.3 BLUECOATS The 'Coats are done their show and it shows. They offer nothing new this year (floor toms are back-yuck). A crowd favorite as usual second 70.6 SPIRIT OF ATLANTA Well what can I say, they're back. Nothing new, just a throwback to the glory days. Guard of eight isn't impressive. Hopefully they'll make top 20 in Aug. fourth 60.4 CADETS Awesome show! The Cadets have really done it. It's my third veiwing and it gets better every time. They have added trees to the feild and host a road crew of about 15 to do all of the props (trees, lightposts, drumsets,a park bench, three "buildings", and several boxes for the tap-dancers). Best over-all package and crowd favorite of the evening. first 82.1 CROSSMEN Much much cleaner than last week at Hershey. The show is coming together and the guard looks very good for this time of year. Heard rumors of more uniform changes but we'll see. third 68.9 Well that's my admittedly breif reveiw. BTW no caption awards were announced but its not to hard to guess. Later Jon
