July 20, Clifton, NJ (DCA)

Thanks to Joe Dziezawiec for directly emailing this review to us!

Marine Corps exhibition pre-contest well received.
Yankee Rebels Alumni exhibition post contest was a blast!
Crowd wild over back corner entrance, color pre, exit & fanfare.
Cabs alumni corps is SERIOUS. They played all Cab favorites back
to 50's. I saw many faces from the 50's & 60's, too. Alumni had
four less horns and four more drums than varsity
Cabs. After presentation, both corps formed on field for
Flamenco. Excellent night! BTW anyone looking for a
real pro for announcer---Fran Haring of Maryland did an
outstanding job.

Thanks to V6766 on r.a.m.d for this review! A few comments maybe you agree - maybe not -- remember all comments are meant in FUN..... Hawthorne ( or Ponzo and the band ) - is it me or does every song sound the same? and with that number of horns on the field can't the drill be a little more exciting? or would the hornline passout? :-) Bushwackers - ah...nice show....ah..what was it? just kidding - call me crazy but for once in my life I LIKED their show or maybe it was the cute blonde bari ( hi MS )- it sounded like they were a little off but still good:-) Sunrisers - good drill - great drums but the drums seem to be in their own show at times or did the horns just run out of steam....? was that Stan playing a solo - what is DCA coming to!!! Sun will be great in Aug - ( as they always are ) just fill the holes - and get some strong sop's :-) Hurricanes - ah....I'll pass....one comment - was it me or did anyone else have a hard time following the melody line? almost thought I was hearing the Bushwackers for a minute.. Hey CJ - nice birdcalls where did you learn to do those? CMCC or Madison :-) Sky - I thought I had died and gone to HELL....but someone told me that most of the players (horn) are new...if so then OK....if not....Urghhhhhh - but it's good to see them anyway :-) Chieftains - nice show - but the horns did'nt project any ENERGY on the songbook.... so I had a hard time getting into it. Maybe they were tired...? :-) Reading - sorry could'nt hear the show..... :-) All coments are meant in FUN so don't get too PISSED, but if the shoe fits..... The FEAR of success is a much GREATER fear than the FEAR of failure...
